I stopped by Hula Poke in Metrotown today, and wow, it was such a refreshing find! The place has that bright, welcoming Hawaiian vibe with good vibes all around, and the staff were super friendly and quick, perfect for a busy mall lunch. I ordered the Cali Veg bowl, and it was amazing. Everything felt incredibly fresh: crisp veggies, perfectly ripe avocado, and flavorful toppings that all came together in the most tasty way. The portions are generous, the ingredients are high-quality, and it was just the healthy, satisfying meal I was craving. So light yet filling, I left feeling energized! If you’re looking for a delicious vegan option in Burnaby (not everything is vegan), this is it. Highly recommend Hula Poke, I’ll definitely be back soon!

My husband loves Hula Poke, and I must confess I was a bit reluctant to try it at first. Luckily, I did, and now I absolutely love it! The food is incredibly fresh and flavorful. My favorite dish is the Crispy Miso, it’s soooo delicious!

Good poke should have three things: freshness, quality protein, and a subtle but addictive sauce — and this place has them all. I once had such a terrible poke elsewhere (wilted salad, awful taste) that I avoided poke restaurants for almost 7 months and only made my own. But this spot completely restored my love for poke. My first visit blew me away, and I thought maybe it was because I was starving… but my second visit proved it’s truly delicious and consistent. Highly recommend: salmon + sushi rice + yuzu sauce (so refreshing!) and tofu + coconut rice + coco gochujang sauce (perfectly savory and spicy). And that Yuzu sauce… oh my god, I’m obsessed! Also, when I want to treat myself, I go for the Grilled Salmon Bowls with Garlic Sesame Sauce and a Mango Colada — absolutely phenomenal together. The restaurant is spotless, cozy, and very comfortable, with super kind staff who make the experience even better. Definitely my go-to poke spot now.
